Jim Schuster has been licensed to practice law in Michigan since 1978 and is a Certified Elder Law Attorney. Jim is an authority on the Michigan Medicaid Nursing Home rules, a subject with which not many lawyers are familiar. He is the former chair of the Michigan State Bar Elder Law Section and member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, a writer, and frequent speaker on Elder Law topics.

Jim has had articles on Elder Law published in the Michigan Lawyers Weekly,the Detroit Legal News,the Michigan State Bar Journal, and Laches, the publication of the Oakland County Bar Association. He is an instructor for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and a frequent speaker to professional and support groups. He is a certified speaker of the Detroit Area Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
